Sucralose – a raw material with many uses
Sucralose is mainly used to replace sugar in the final product. The use of this raw material in food significantly reduces its calorific content. Sucralose is sometimes used to enhance the level of sweet taste in a product. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in interest in this food additive due to the growing trend to reduce the number of calories in a product. Sucralose is currently one of the most popular sugar substitutes in the food industry. It is also an ingredient in many products in the sports nutrition category.
Below are other examples of the uses of sucralose in the food industry:
Juices and carbonated sweetened drinks – improving the taste of the product and reducing the cost of production. In addition, the product contains far fewer calories on the label.
For energy and functional drinks – masking undesirable flavours due to the use of vitamins and other functional raw materials.
For alcoholic beverages
For dairy products (yoghurt, sweetened milk) – sucralose is a good substitute for raw materials such as acesulfame or aspartame. It shows better behaviour during the production process. As a result, the final product has much better taste qualities.
For bakery – due to its high thermal stability, it can be used for high temperature production.
For breakfast cereals and confectionery.
For chewing gum
For sweetening supplements and sports nutrition.
